Continue Ye in My Love

Jesus said He loves us as the Father loves Him. Nothing can change that love or take it away.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭~ Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then He said that we are to love one another with that very same love. Think about that. We are to love each other and everyone in the same way the Father loves the Son. That’s intense.

We thought it was enough to love our neighbor as ourselves.

“And, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” ~ Matthew 19:19b

But Jesus raised the bar on how we love. He said we are to love our neighbor in the same way the Father loves Him, the Son.

“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” ‭‭~ John‬ ‭15:9-12‬ ‬‬‬‬‬‬

How it that even possible? How can we love like that? Only by coming into His Presence in the secret place and receiving His power to love. PRAY. ASK. Ask for love to be the foundation of your life. Not just the foundation of your prayer life, although prayer always begins there….but your whole life. Ask the Holy Ghost to fill you with the love of Jesus Christ. “I want to know the length, breadth, depth, and height of Your love.” (Ephesians 3:18)

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” ~ Ephesians‬ ‭3:14, 16-19‬ ‬‬

What does a life of the love of Jesus Christ look like. Paul tells us:

“I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:” ~ Romans‬ ‭9:1-3‬‬‬

Read that again. Paul says here that he would live in a life of eternal hell so that others would not. That is the love of Jesus! Only God can anoint you to truly love like this.

This kind of love looks like the Cross!

Thoughts – I have gone into the secret place of the Most High and asked Him to anoint me and fill me with love for others. I have gone not once but many times. Then I am so surprised when hardships and trials comes my way or when some I thought would be lifetime friends seem to easily walk away. And the Lord said to me this morning in the prayer room – Open your eyes, your ears, and your heart. I have answered your prayer. Now continue ye in My LOVE!!!
