We Will Remember the Name of the Lord

The passages read today in the One Year Bible were: Genesis 48-49; Matthew 15:29-16:12; Psalm20:1-9; Proverbs 4:20-27

THE PASSAGES THAT SPOKE TO MY HEART

Let my name be named
And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. ~ Genesis 48:15-16

Ephraim – His seed shall become a multitude of nations
And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh. And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers. ~ Genesis 48:17-21

No sign except the sign of the prophet Jonas
“A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.” ~ Matthew 16:4

Beware the doctrine of Pharisees and Sadducees
”How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” ~ Matthew 16:11-12

Some trust in chariots and some in horses
Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. ~ Psalms 20:4-8

Keep they heart with all diligence
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. ~ Proverbs 4:20-23

Oh Father, Help me always to remember Your beautiful Name. Help me to seek not so much that my name be remembered but that our name be always attached to Yours. Help those around me to know You as they get to know me. That it is be said that someone served the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (and Melissa) that they would know that they know the God I served was You and You alone. The One True and Living God. Help me today as I begin this day to go forth with Your praise on my lips, Your Word in my heart, and Your Glory surrounding me and all that I am called to do. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen! Amen!
