Where Love Is

1 Samuel 20:1–21:15; John 9:1-41; Psalm 113:1–114:8; Proverbs 15:15-17

Where Love Is
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. – Proverbs 15:17

The Shewbread
And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. – 1 Samuel 21:4-6

Shewbread, also called Bread Of The Presence, was any of the twelve loaves of bread that stood for the twelve tribes of Israel. Shewbread was presented to God and shown in the Temple of Jerusalem in the Presence of God. The bread was replaced every Sabbath, and then the priests ate what had been displayed. The table of shewbread was a constant reminder of God’s everlasting covenant with his people and his provision for the twelve tribes of Israel.

One Thing I Know
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. – John 9:24-25

From This Time Forth
Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised. – Psalm 113:1-3
